Hi. I’m Laura. I’ll spare you the boring stuff so let’s move on to what’s really important. I love chocolate, especially chocolate milkshakes. I love to travel and sit in front of a warm, cozy fireplace. Fall is my fave. And call me weird, but I hate wearing socks inside.
I am the founder of -Her Journey Towards Change- for women who are (for whatever reason) on their journey towards change.
I believe everyone needs that ‘go to’ person in facilitating change. But, sadly, not everyone does. I know what it’s like trying to figure life out but can’t seem to get past the ‘stuck’ mindset.
The first step to becoming ‘unstuck’ is being truthful with yourself. Believe me…I know. This is why I started ‘Her Journey Towards Change.’
I have a passion and purpose for serving God and for serving women.
My hope is to provide you with a valuable service in finding clarity in your struggles, accountability in reaching your goals, assisting with strategies through guidance and support, focus on your God-given talents and unique skills, offer positive insights and new perspectives and eliminate the negativity that might be pulling you down.
I truly believe God has given women a uniqueness like nothing else in this world. I also believe when we, as women, understand our identity in Christ, we can know our purpose. And in spite of our challenges, we can live in faith with the hope and joy God desires for us.
…and to wake up knowing God is on my side, is all I need…
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats. And, I have to admit, some did not fit well. Let’s just say I’ve prepared meals for my family over the many years, but I can’t really call myself a cook. Nope. Don’t like wearing the chef hat.
These are the hats I wear best:
-wife-mom-nonnie/grandmother-daughter-sister-creative, writer, blogger podcaster, nature photographer-concert goer-child development specialist, dog lover, optimist, and the list could go on. But the hat I’ve always seemed to wear the most is -the encourager. For that, I am thankful.
The hat of which I’m most proud of is that I can say I’m a Christian and child of God. Although I have many faults and mess up a lot, I have faith God is with me and understands me when my hat slips off. For that, I am thankful. #grace
I am married. Actually, to the same man for the past thirty-eight years. I am blessed with the wifey hat. I also have two grown children and two grandsons. There’s nothing under the sun like being a mom UNTIL you have grandchildren and the mom hat isn’t so tight anymore. That’s when I can spoil them and not feel a bit guilty. I am currently a pet owner of an almost one-year old labradoodle. Even though his hyperactivity can be a little much, I’ve learned to love him even more.
I live in Knoxville, Tennessee but my heart is in the backroads of WV. I was born and raised knowing those country roads like the back of my hand. And yes, I was a coal miners daughter. Love my roots.
Now that I’m coming to the end of the page, you now know that I have added another hat to my collection. I am a Certified Christian Life Breakthrough Coach through Life Breakthrough Coaching & Academy. I can honestly say that my obstacles, struggles and all the hard stuff has led me to this place, this very moment. For that, I am thankful.
My hope and prayer is that if you are reading this, you are here for a reason…and I want to be a part of your journey.
